BATF Approval Letters
www.atf.gov
When building a functional firearm from a "Parts Kit" it's critical for you to stay within the law. Someday you may have to deal with a Law Enforcement Officer who knows little about obsloete firearms and only knows that you have a maching gun and they are illegal!
How do you stay out of jail and not have your prized firearm destroyed?
The single most important protection you have is BATF approval letters for your gun. Keep in mind, not only do these letters ONLY apply to one specific gun (ie Suomi M-31) but they only apply to firearms that are built exactly like I built mine. If you decide to change some part of the gun that has to do with conversion to semi-auto function or barrel takedown, the letter is worthless!
Also, these letters are hard to get from the BATF and take quite a while. To get one, a fully functional gun must be built and submitted to the BATF for examination and firing. For this reason, I do not yet have letters for all of my builds.
If I do have any letters posted here that apply to your builds, download them to your computer by "right clicking" the picture of the letter and "savt to" a directory on your computer where you can find it. Some are in document form and some are in picture form. Each can be printed with the right type of program.
PRINT THEM AND HAVE THEM IN YOUR GUN'S CARRYING CASE ANY TIME YOU TRANSPORT YOUR GUN!
