How To Build the Suomi M-31.

This CD based book covers my building the Suomi sub-machine gun from a demilled parts kit through a functioning, legal semi-automatic 9mm carbine fully approved by the BATF.

This documentary "How To" type book offers ideas and insights as well as specific information on my build process.

This buiod and tutorial have been reviewed by the BATF and the gun itself is fully approved! The BATF approval letter is included in the file. To the best of my knowledge, this was the very first BATF approved Suomi M-31 design.

How To Build the Yugo M-56.

The M-56 was adopted by the country of Yugoslavia in 1956. It was designed and built by the Zastava Arms company. Yugoslavia has now been broken up and has reverted to the original six countries that once formed it. These were Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia.

This gun was largly copied from the German MP-40 of WWII and some of the parts will interchange. It is well made and was in service for quite a long time. It is in 7.62X25 caliber, as were many other Communist Block firearms of this period.

The heart of this project is the Yugoslav M-56 sub-machine gun parts kit. The tutorial is a bit out of date and is based on the the Prexis/Sten 80% receiver and used a US made bolt that is no longer made. Also shown is the Clark Universal Striker system, also not currently available. If you have access to a lathe, you should be able to use the information and do the bolt conversion yourself.

This browser based book covers my building of the Yugoslav M-56 sub-maching gun from a demilled parts kit through a functioning, legal semi-automatic 9mm pistol or carbine. I chose to build a pistol as this is the easiest and preserves the original appearance of the gun.

How To Build the PPs-43.

This browser based book covers my building of the Russian PPs-43 sub-machine gun from a demilled parts kit through a functioning, legal and BATF approved semi-automatic 7.62X25 pistol. While I documented building a pistol version, the information can be used to build a carbine version of this gun. The KP-44 is a very similar gun and most of the info holds for both guns.

I built my first PPs-43 as a pistol as I didn't like the long barrel look on this gun. This turned out to be a great plinker and caused a lot of comments at the range! I have since followed this up with a carbine build featuring the Aurora Faux Suppressor (fake can) and legal 16" barrel.

Please see the "Hellbox Armory" link in the "Valuable Resources" section for information on the Aurora Faux Suppressor and other great gun building products.

This second gun changed my ideas about longer barrels on sub-guns! I now use the "Phantom" style compensator on a 16" custom barrel.

How To Build the Baretta 38A.

This incomplete browser based book covers my building of the Italian 38A sub-machine gun based pistol from a demilled parts kit. The result is a functioning, legal and BATF approved semi-automatic 9mm pistol. While I documented building a pistol version, the information can be used to build a carbine version of this gun. The book was never finished but is 80% or so done. There will probably be no additions to this book.

Please see the "Hellbox Armory" link in the "Valuable Resources" section for information on the Aurora Faux Suppressor or receiver blank and other great gun building products.
