On May 27, 2008 I received official notice from the BATF-FTB that my design and build of the Suomi M-31 was approved as a semi automatic non-machine gun.
The BATF registration number for the letter is 903050:MMK/3311/2008/464 and is signed by John R. Spencer, Chief, Firearms Technology Branch of the BATF.
In this letter, approval is granted for my "Clark MP-08" which is what I renamed my gun when I built it. Being as the person who makes the new firearms receiver has created a completely new firearm, he/she may name it anything they wish. My feeling was that by using a unique name, I was sure that the gun name would never show up on a "Banned Firearms" list.
I have chosen to not post the letter because the approval is only valid on guns made in EXACLY the same way as laid out in my CD based book and using the striker/fire control group system I designed. For this reason, the letter (and others related to this build) are included on the CD itself.
Anyone having an older copy of the CD can get a "free" replacement CD with all of these letters on it and all current upgrades and corrections on it. There is a $5 charge for duplication costs, blank CD cost, blank lable cost, postage and padded mailing envelope. Simply return your original CD with $5 and the new one will be on the way!
